Depending on the student’s department’s policy, some credits earned in such courses may be counted as part of the required 30 credits for the Master’s degree. Each department’s policy regarding the upper limit on the number of credits that may be counted in this way is shown in the Table 1 below. Some courses, however, such as those offered by the Center for Japanese Language, Global Education Center (except for “Self-Competence Development (Business Creation)” courses: refer to the list in “ 7 Course List of Common Doctoral Courses”), and Center for International Education, cannot be counted among the 30 credits required for the Master’s degree. Regarding “Self-Competence Development (Business Creation)” courses offered by Global Education Center, students can take them in the category of “Lecture courses offered by Graduate Schools belonging to Faculties other than FSE” and their credits are counted among the 30 credits required for the Master’s degree up to the number of credits determined by each Department as below.Table 1: The maximum number of credits students can count toward graduation from credits earned in other departments and facultiesEBSE lecture courses offered by departments other than one’s home department in FSENo limitNo limitNo limit6 creditsNo limitNo limit6 credits*10 creditsNo limitNo limit6 credits*No limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitLecture courses offered by Graduate Schools belonging to Faculties other than FSENo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limit6 credits*No limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limitNo limit1818
