The department will make its decision on whether or not the applicant may continue writing the dissertation based on a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s report, questions and answers, and the opinions of the participants at the preliminary screening.(II) Acceptance of application for doctorate by the Graduate School Steering Committee The Graduate School Steering Committee approves the acceptance of application for doctorate based on the results reviewed by the department.(III) Doctoral Dissertation Defense The Review Committee shall hold a public hearing (final oral examination) during the review process from the acceptance by the Graduate School Steering Committee to the final pass/fail decision by the Graduate School Steering Committee.(IV) Department Screening Committee The Department Screening Committee makes its decision on the acceptance or rejection of the doctoral degree at department level.(V) Final pass/fail decision by the Graduate School Steering Committee The Graduate School Steering Committee deliberates based on the results of the Department Screening Committee’s judgment and decides whether to pass or fail in awarding the degree.2626
