Networked systemsThe target of this research is large-scale networked systems such as the Internet. We aim to solve the fundamental problems of the systems. In order to establish the goal, we use the various approaches; monitoring, statistical analysis and modeling, controlling, and forecasting. Our research interests include but not limited to the following topics: deep understanding of the Internet through the statistical approaches, developing fast and scalable network monitoring algorithms, network security, modeling of temporal-spatial behavior of mobile devices.6. Wireless network systemsThis research focuses on optical wireless communication networks, cellular network system design, sensor networks, and smart grid system design with an aim to meet the ever-growing demand for improved network performance and ubiquitous access. Students can expect to develop skills relating to signal processing, wireless networking, communication link design, and hardware configuration.7. Wireless communication and sensingThis research combines wireless communication and sensing technologies to optimize wireless resource utilization and realize wide-area sensing in the applications such as environmental information sensing, vital data sensing, space observation, and autonomous driving. It covers a broad spectrum of topics related to light sensing, terahertz sensing, microwave sensing, signal processing, wireless communication methods, network design and management.8. Research on Mobile Communication SystemsThis research is dedicated to a broad field of interests in emerging mobile communication systems, encompassing but not limited to 5G and beyond cellular communications, integrated mobile communications, green communications, vehicular communications and IoT communications. We tackle the fundamental challenges such as signal processing, multiplexing, resource allocation, cooperative access, intelligent energy management with a focus on achieving efficiency, reliability, sustainability and optimality. We also leverage machine learning for computational intelligence in navigating the complexities of modern mobile systems.◇ Media ContentsStudies are conducted on human interfaces and multimedia contents deployed over advanced information networking systems. Specifically, the content of the research guidance is as follows:1. Perceptual information processingTo realize a more human-friendly computer, it is important to develop a system which enables sharing of an experience space with people by installing a perceptual information processing 67
